Mirror, Mirror on the Wall

"What?! Oh my goodness." This was my response to my mom telling me she had thought of naming me, Mercedes.(Thank God for a brother who wanted to name his baby sis, Crystal...lol but I digress.) After finishing our conversation, I pondered upon who Mercedes would have become. Would she have been me and I her? Would she have been as compassionate about people as me or conceited and vain at heart? My mom says she believes, I would have still been who I am. Then it started to settle in...I am simply Crystal, no comparison needed. I love who I am and adore who I am becoming each day. Often times, we find ourselves comparing ourselves to others and the "what ifs" in our lives. Wondering upon that mysterious factor that could have reshaped our very being. The star athlete who says,"what if I had gone pro?" The nurse who wonders, "What if I had gone on to medical school?" The young lady or man who wonders what if they had engaged in conversation with the one who just smiled so sweetly at them. British writer,Douglas Adams, once said, "I seldom end up where I want to go but I always end up where I need to be." Where you are right now may only be for a specific time because God is leading you to your destiny. It may not be where you want to be but I'm sure if God has you there, it has a purpose. So next time, you begin to compare yourself, Stop & think "I'm where I need to be for where I'm going."
Check out Jeremiah 29:11 for more.

My favorite song when I need to remember who I am....EnJOY!!!

PING!!!
