No More Band-aids!!!!

"Take that band-aid off so some fresh air can get to it." I had heard this a thousand times growing up after falling and getting a scrape or cut. I did not know it then, but now I understand it. There was something Mama knew that I did not as a child. She knew the longer I kept the affected area covered the longer it would take to heal with chances of becoming infected. In many ways, our lives are the same way. We have been wounded and bruised by circumstances, situations, and people. Instead of healing from these things, we chose to cover them with band-aids like a fake smile, a hard exterior, or my particular brand of coverage, humor. The more the area we covered stayed unexposed the more we forgot about it until someone touched it, then the area got larger. I once heard, only a fool would put a band-aid on cancer, but so many of us have done this exact thing. In essence, we became familiar with our dysfunction in a comfort zone. I'm learning these days God cannot heal what I do not reveal. So I hope you will join me in saying NO MORE BAND-AIDS!!!

Time to leave our comfort zones....Enjoy!!!

Don't Stop Now!!!

An Olympic hurdler will train for four years sometimes longer for one race of a lifetime. After years of intensive preparation, he will enter the arena with a goal of becoming a winner at the finish line. Once the race has begun and he encounters the first hurdle, he will not just look at it, turn and walk away. No, he elevates above the hurdle to reach his goal--the finish line. In life, we sometimes come to hurdles or obstacles which though we are prepared to overcome, we often walk away in fear, doubt,& faithlessness. We simply walk away from our destiny because we failed to exercise our faith and excel above the "hurdles" of life. Today, I challenge you, as I challenge myself, rise above your next hurdle because there's a race to be won here.

Live the life He created you for by BECOMING WHO YOU ARE.
